LONDON — Mince pies are sacrosanct here in the United Kingdom.
So much so that Brits get pretty fired up when anyone attempts to besmirch the beloved baked good’s seasonal significance, which is typically only consumed around Christmas time.
That’s precisely what’s upsetting Brits across the nation as supermarkets begin to fill their shelves with mince pies. In September.
People have taken to Twitter to express their fury that the Christmassy cakes are already in shops. It’s really not on, according to the British public.
Just seen mince pies for sale in the Co-op!! Seriously?? I’ve not even seen Halloween stuff!! Far too early for Christmas crap 🙈

Some people’s anger has reached a terrifying level…
there are mince pies in shops already and I feel like I’m going to have a meltdown what the fucking hell is going on

…while others, on reflection, are more pragmatic about the appearance of the pies…
I object to mince pies already being on sale on an ideological level. Realistically, I’m always here for mince pies.

…because, let’s face it, who would say no to a mince pie?
